Indonesian police are using 'thermal scanning helmets' to detect COVID-19

Police in Pekanbaru are using helmets equipped with thermal cameras to detect people’s body temperatures as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Footage from Tuesday (June 2) in Pekanbaru, the capital of the Indonesian province of Riau shows visitors of Mal Ska shopping center being scanned and the thermal testing results being displayed on a screen.

According to local media, the "thermal scanning helmet" can detect a person's body temperature from a distance of 10 meters.
