Sa kanyang PEP Live interview kahapon, May 28, nilinaw ni Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto ang tungkol sa naka-post sa kanyang official Facebook page nung May 26.
Posted doon ang quote card ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na may caption naman ni Mayor Vico:
"Ano man ang mangyari, hindi natin puwedeng hayaan na mahuli ang mga magaaral natin sa mga pampublikong paaralan...
"We are already working with the Department of Education for any possibility for our students a) Resumption of classes b) Virtual classes
"In case of B we are preparing better internet connections at the barangay level where students can download the modules. (DepEd is doing module-development now but we will also assist as needed)
"Whether A or B, we are identifying funds for personal learning devices for students."
Sa interview ni Mayor Vico kay PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) senior writer and PEP Live host Rachelle Siazon, sang-ayon daw siya sa sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte tungkol sa hindi muna pagbubukas ng klase.
Ang kaligtasan pa rin daw ng mga estudyante ang mahalaga.
Pero hindi siya sang-ayon na mahinto naman ang karapatan ng mga estudyante para sa edukasyon.
Kaya nga sa kanyang post, nag-offer siya ng mga alternatibo sa traditional classes o face-to-face classes.
Sabi pa ng 30-year-old na alkalde, may mga paghahanda na silang ginagawa at nakikipag-usap na sila sa Department of Education (DepEd) kung ano ang mga puwedeng ipampalit sa traditional classes.
Tinitingnan nila ang posibilidad ng pamamahagi ng handouts, paggamit ng Internet para sa online learning, at pagtuturo sa pamamagitan ng radyo at telebisyon.
