ಕರ್ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿಡತೆ ಹಾವಳಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ತೀರಾ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದೆ ರೈತರು ಗಾಬರಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಕೃಷಿ ಸಚಿವ ಬಿ.ಸಿ.ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ವಿಕಾಸಸೌಧದಲ್ಲಿಂದು, ಕೃಷಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೀಟಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಮಿಡತೆ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಮುನ್ನೆಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿ ಆತ್ಮಸ್ಥೈರ್ಯ ತುಂಬುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲು ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.ರಾಜ್ಯವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾ ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ.25 ರಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಮಿಡತೆ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಬಳಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.

Agriculture Minister BC Patil held a meeting with agriculture officials, researchers at the University of Agriculture and entomologists saying that there is little need for farmers to be alarmed.
Farmers have been instructed to raise awareness of grasshopper control measures and to work on the self-reliant work, he said.
