New York Allows Store Owners to
Deny Entry to People Without Masks Governor Andrew Cuomo's new
executive order gives establishment
owners permission to issue bans. Andrew Cuomo,
via Twitter Andrew Cuomo, via press briefing New York has been hit the hardest
in the U.S. with over 360,000
confirmed cases of COVID-19. Nearly all of the state has started
reopening except for New York City. Mayor Bill de Blasio
says they will likely begin
the process within weeks. According to Cuomo,
not enough younger people
are wearing masks in public areas. He partly attributes this to the early
and inaccurate thought that COVID-19
poses less of a threat to young people. Coronavirus can infect
people of all ages. Cuomo has often stressed that masks
are critical for protecting and
respecting other people.
