Reference: Born in Camana, Arequipa, but raised in Piura, Madeleine Hartog Bell became the first Peruvian to be crowned Miss World on November 16, 1967. The scepter was perhaps the most important in her young life, but not the first, since she had already worn the crowns of Miss Piura and Miss Peru.
