Mother cat carries newborn kitten upstairs and onto bed

This is the adorable moment a mother cat carried her newborn kitten up to her owner's bedroom.

The moggy, named Pee Mai, gave birth to the litter outside the family home in Phatthalung, southern Thailand.

However, once she felt that her brood were strong enough, she carried them one-by-one in her mouth into the home, up the stairs and put them behind the bed.

Footage shows her climbing onto the double bed where the second kitten was waiting on on May 23.

Pet owner Ek Khongthong said that Pee Mai had built a den outside the house to give birth to her kittens, which she had kept hidden to protect them.

He added: ''She brought the first kitten into the home and took it upstairs, then she went back for the second.

''We don't know for sure how many kittens she has for sure, but we think that it is just two.

''She made the hiding place outside to give birth but then brought them indoors to be safe.''
