Hengdian World Studios, located in Zhejiang is the world’s largest film studio. From Zhang Yi Mou’s ‘Hero’ to The Story of Yanxi Palace, 70% of China’s film and television shows are filmed here.

Aspiring actors from all over China, make their way to Hengdian hoping to make it big. But so many leave after just a few months, that a special name has been given to these actors, “Hengdian drifters”

We spoke to Yu Peng, an actor waiting for his shot at stardom about the challenges of being an actor in China’s tinseltown.
