Cyclist Idrees Syawash is pedalling across rural areas of Afghanistan’s eastern province of Nangarhar to raise awareness among villagers about the coronavirus pandemic. Syawash says on his visits to more than 120 communities, he found many villagers were unaware of the Covid-19 outbreak because their homes lack electricity and therefore any access to the internet or other sources of information.
