The BCCI has been constantly on the look-out for a window for IPL 2020 which is postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic. And there has been talks about the tournament might take place in the October-November window in place of the scheduled ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. However, Allan Border, the former Australia captain, opposed the idea of staging IPL 2020 in place of T20 World Cup. "I am not happy with that, the world game should take precedence over a local competition," Border told abc.net.au.

बीसीसीआई बाजी मार लेगी. ये कहना है ऑस्ट्रेलिया के महान बल्लेबाज एलन बॉर्डर का. बॉर्डर के मुताबिक़ इस साल होने टी20 विश्वकप को खिसकाया जा सकता है और उसकी जगह आईपीएल करवाया जा सकता है. एलेन बॉर्डर ने कहा कि आईपीएल महज पैसा कमाने का धंधा है और इस साल होने वाले टी20 विश्व कप पर इसे तरजीह देने की अनुमति नहीं दी जा सकती. ऐसी अटकलें लगायी जा रही हैं कि अगर ऑस्ट्रेलिया में टी20 विश्व कप स्थगित हो जाता है. तो आईपीएल का 13वां चरण अक्टूबर-नवंबर में आयोजित किया जा सकता है.
