Coronavirus: Chile’s poor clash with police amid lockdown and food shortages

Chilean protesters clashed with police in the capital city of Santiago on May 18, 2020 during a demonstration calling for food aid and help from the government amid a coronavirus lockdown.  Police used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the rock-throwing crowd in El Bosque, one of Santiago’s poorest neighbourhoods.
