When widespread pandemic lockdowns began to spread across the US, the Federal Communications Commission took action.
The FCC pushed carriers to sign its Keep Americans Connected Pledge.
Carriers would promise that no one would get their internet or telephone service cut off due to an inability to pay.
Now, Gizmodo reports the FCC says over 2,000 Americans have filed complaints related to the novel coronavirus COVID-19.
According to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, other complaints purportedly dealt with billing, network issues, and broadband access.
Even if an ISP has signed the pledge, customers aren't protected from service disruptions if a bill is skipped.
You must notify your ISP that you need a financial hardship extension. If not, you could find yourself with suspended service.
