The AP DGP Gautam Sawang ordered a probe into the child labour incident at Atmakur in Nellore district, in which police were also accused. Reacting on the incident, Sawang in a statement on Monday stated that it was a violation of the Child Labour Prohibition and Regulation Act 1986.

బాల కార్మికుల కోసం ఎన్ని చట్టాలొచ్చినా వారి వెతలు మాత్రం తీరడం లేదు. చట్టాన్ని అమలు చేయాల్సిన పోలీసులు సైతం తమ కళ్లముందే దారుణాలు జరుగుతున్నా పట్టించుకోవడం లేదు. నెల్లూరు జిల్లాలో జరిగిన ఘటనే ఇందుకు నిదర్శనంగా నిలుస్తోంది. ఆత్మకూరులో ఇంటర్ పరీక్షల స్పాట్ వాల్యుయేషన్ సందర్భంగా అక్కడ పోలీసుల కోసం ఓ గదిని కేటాయించారు. పోలీసులు ఆరు సంవత్సరాల చిన్నారితో ఆ రూమ్‌ను శుభ్రం చేయించారు.
