CAG claims financial irregularities at AMU

An audit of the books of the Aligarh Muslim University by the government auditor has pointed at financial irregularities amounting to Rs 120 crore besides indicating the direct involvement of vice-chancellor Zamiruddin Shah in illegally transferring Rs 51.79 lakh to a private trust of which he is a life time trustee. The nearly 100-page report will be tabled in the monsoon session of Parliament beginning July 18.
