Incessant rains and heavy winds have been battering Tamil Nadu for the last few days. Heavy rains inundated many areas in Chennai, throwing normal life out of gear. Schools and colleges in the city continued to remain shut and people struggled to get to offices. Due to heavy rainfall the festive mood in the state has dampened. On the other hand, heavy snowfall has created problems for people in North India.
