To play the Whole Tone scale in the key of C, you'll start by playing three white keys (C, D, E) and three black keys (F#, G#, A#). It is much fun and easier to remember how to play the whole tone scale in the key of C, see the explanation below:

(WS - Whole Step, or whole tone)
C to D = one WS
D to E = one WS
E to F# = one WS
F# to G# = one WS
G# to A# = one WS
A# to C = one WS

Once you are familiar with the notes in the key of C Major, you can move on to play the whole note scale in any other keys.
