The U.S. continues to have conversations regarding the defense cost-sharing agreement with South Korea as the alliance remains strong.
According to the assistant secretary of state for political-military affairs on Friday, communication between the two countries has never stopped regarding the Special Measures Agreement on cost-dividing for the U.S. army's presence in South Korea.
He said the lines of communication between the two countries' presidents, top diplomats, and top negotiators remain open and active.
He also said the two parties are looking for amenable space to get close on the cost-deal as neither side wants to see the alliance erode.
