What It’s Like to Be a Covid-19 Volunteer

At the peak of China’s coronavirus outbreak, Wuhan had 1.5 million registered volunteers, according to official statistics. When most people chose to stay away from the city, these volunteers decided to rush in. What challenges did they face? And what motivated them to head straight into the disaster zone? We talked to three volunteers in the epicenter of China’s Covid-19 outbreak.
