Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Monday stated that Ravichandran Ashwin is in fact the best off-spinner in world cricket right now. Both the spinners for India shared a healthy cricketing rivalry for the only spinner spot in the Indian team until a few years ago. Speaking to Ashwin on his Instagram live chat show ‘ReminiscewithAsh’, Harbhajan clarified that he has no negative feelings towards Ashwin. “A lot of people would say that there is a lot of jealousy between us. But I would want to call out to those detractors and say there is nothing like that,” the 39-year-old said.

भज्जी ने अश्विन के साथ उनकी टीम में जगह बनाने की लड़ाई पर जवाब दिया. उनका कहना था कि आलोचक यूं ही बातें बना देते हैं. टीम इंडिया के स्पिनर अश्विन और उनके बीच कभी एक दूसरे को लेकर जलन की भावना नहीं आई है. भज्जी ने कहा, "बहुत सारे लोग ऐसा कहेंगे कि हमारे बीच जलन की भावना है लेकिन मैं उन सभी को आलोचकों को बोलना चाहूंगा कि ऐसा कुछ भी नहीं है. भज्जी ने अश्विन और नाथन लियोन के बारे में कहा, "ऑस्ट्रेलिया के ऑफ स्पिनर भी हैं क्योंकि उन्होंने बहुत ही बेहतरीन खेल दिखाया है. खासकर यह देखते हुए कि वो ऑस्ट्रेलिया से आते हैं जहां कि शायद ही पिच स्पिनर की मददगार होती है."
