Scottie Pippen reached a screeching halt to his career in the late 1990s with injuries and disdain over his contract entering the 1997-98 season. The Bulls eventually traded Pippen to the Rockets before his career capsized, but Sam Smith believes a trade that nearly went down that would've sent Pippen to the Celtics for a top-level draft pick could've saved the Bulls into the 2000s if they selected Tracy McGrady.
