Maharashtra Day: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray unfurled national flag on the occasion of ‘Maharashtra Day’ in Mumbai. The event took place at Hutatma Chowk on May 01. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar also unfurled national flag at DM office in Pune on the occasion of ‘Maharashtra Day’. Meanwhile The Election Commission has decided to hold elections for the Maharashtra Legislative Council before May 27 by when CM Uddhav Thackeray has to get elected to the legislature to continue as the chief minister. The decision was taken in Friday’s meeting of the Election Commission. This comes a day after Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari wrote to the Election Commission requesting them to hold the elections. The elections will be held after 21 days and before May 27.
