Coronavirus: More schools reopen in China for students preparing for university entrance exams
  • 4 years ago
With the coronavirus outbreak in China reportedly largely under control, final-year students in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou started returning to class on April 27, 2020, to prepare for their university entrance exams.  The National Higher Education Entrance Examination, also known as gaokao, had already been postponed by a month to July because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was the first time the tests have been disrupted since the Cultural Revolution, which started in 1966.
