Pink flamingos flock to Indian city of Navi Mumbai amid nationwide coronavirus curfew
  • 4 years ago
India has been under a nationwide lockdown since March 25, 2020, to curb the spread of the coronavirus behind the Covid-19 pandemic. While the restrictions have caused a massive economic slowdown in the country, they have also given rise to improved air and water quality. As a result, tens of thousands of flamingos have gathered in the city of Navi Mumbai. The birds normally migrate to the area every year, but residents say this year they have seen a big increase in their numbers.
