Irish mum builds decking play area for kids during COVID-19 lockdown

A mum in Waterford, south Ireland, transformed some wooden pallets into decking with a play area for her kids during the coronavirus lockdown.

The filmer told Newsflare: "I wanted to buy my kids a playhouse but as our garden is slopped and boggy I decided to make a decking area for it.

"Being on lockdown because of the coronavirus I had the time on my hands and managed to source what I needed with the restrictions.

"It all started with pallets! I levelled them, secured and treated them. Next was to lay artificial grass with a decking tile area for the playhouse with a pathway.

"I used grass mat for around the pallet edges. Before painting fencing and securing it along the front. Lastly the addition of artificial flowers and hey presto! A beautiful decking area for kids.

"Harper, Dakota, and Piper, they love it, best thing ever."

The project took three weeks to be completed and cost around €230 excluding the playhouse.
