The Central Executive Council of the Barak Valley Interfaith Coordination Meeting provided 13 kg of daily necessities in 12 posts to the scheduled public including some journalists. The relief items were distributed at the office of the organization at Karimganj Maijdihi Point at 5 pm on Wednesday in the presence of Nandeshwar Mukherjee, a central adviser and former principal of a government school, and HM Amir Hossain, general secretary. Amir Hossain said such a program as per the decision of the organization in consultation with the district administration. The 12 items include locale rice, mussar pulses, potatoes, gram, peas, flour, turnips, sugar, onions, salt, biscuits, mango incense and other ingredients. HM Amir Hossain, general secretary of the organization, said that the relief materials are being given by calling certain people to the office every day as per the rules of the government. He said that in the future, he is planning to go to the houses of the starving people by car and deliver relief items. Journalists Babul Chandra Roy, Nirmalya Mukherjee, Joint Editor Mamata Harijan, Jubeda Begum Chowdhury, Alok Shukla Vaidya and others assisted in distributing the relief.
