As fresh vegetable prices rise due to the coronavirus lockdown, this Australian dad decided to make a massive vegetable patch.

He found that using a pick to prepare the soil was hard and tedious work and when he saw his oldest son on the lawn tractor mowing the grass he had an idea for a genius invention to make the work quicker, easier and more enjoyable.

Jacob Strickling first used the back wheels of his youngest son's slider bike and attached them to an old wakeboard he had leftover from Summer.

Being a hoarder, he also had three picks in the shed which he attached with long screws to the wakeboard.

His idea was to ride the newly made plough like a wakeboard and get towed by the lawn tractor.

The first attempt was a bit of a failure and so Strickling added a front wheel to the wakeboard and attached the rope to the front.

"With these improvements, the wakeboarding plough was a surprising success," said Strickling.

"Not only did it work and turn the soil over rapidly, it was actually really fun to ride," he added.

Jacob Strickling's youngest children also had a go once some safety foam from an old surfboard was added to the end of the picks.
