A Canadian YouTuber shows the damage to tress in Montreal caused by an invasive species of insect.

The emerald ash borer, which is native to north-eastern Asia, has infested many areas of North America, killing tens of millions of ash trees.

"Amazing pattern left beneath the bark by this invasive species," said the filmer Viva Frei.

"Something like 40,000 trees in Montreal we’re going to have to be felled as a result of the invasive species," he added.
