This is the dramatic moment police chased down teenagers who were allegedly taking part in an illegal drag race.

Angry locals complained after hearing the engines revving on night time while crowds are banned because of the coronavirus in Ang Thong, central Thailand.

Police arrived and immediately set up a checkpoint to intercept the young motorcycle racers on Wednesday (April 15th) night.

Footage from the police officer's helmet camera shows the dramatic chase after the racers sped away when they saw the checkpoint.

The cops were able to catch four teenagers are a long chase and confiscated their three exhaust pipes attached to modified motorcycles that create the loud noise when the engine is running.

The provincial police chief said that they will continue to find the others who escaped to eliminate the disturbance racing on a public road.

He said: "We have already caught 15 teens so far and will continue until they were all arrested.

He added that since all the racers were still underage boys and they will not face any serious charge.

"Since all the racers we caught were minors, we could not charge them seriously. We could only keep their record and charge for riding without licenses."
