A curious toddler needed to be rescued after getting his finger stuck in a car bumper.

The four-year-old boy, Nong Jo, followed his grandfather outside the house when he went to get some fruit.

He was playing around the car but stuck his finger in a hole in the chrome bumper while the vehicle was parked in Loei, northeastern Thailand on Wednesday (April 15th) afternoon.

His relatives rushed outside when they heard him crying and discovered him standing beside the car with his stuck finger in the bumper.

They tried to help the boy by themselves at first using oil to lubricate but they could not remove the finger so they called the rescue team.

Footage shows the rescue volunteer using a file to cut the bumper while the boy was crying. They spent over an hour there before they successfully freed the boy's finger.

The boy's uncle Suppachai Waiprasert said they were startled after they heard the crying because they thought the boy was injured.

He said: "The boy grandfather had went out to peel fruits the boy followed him, but he was busy on his thing and let the boy play alone.

The boy was completely unharmed in the incident.
