PM Modi inaugurates India’s first inland waterway terminal on Ganga river

India’s first inland waterway terminal on the Ganga river was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. The ambitious project was built at the cost of Rs 5,369.18 crore, which will be equally shared with the Centre and the World Bank. PepsiCo India has become the first company to use the inland waterways for container movement by transporting products from its plant in Kolkata to Varanasi.
