What To Know About The Racial Disparities In Coronavirus Cases Controversy In The U.S.
Attention on Trump’s administration continues to mount over the blatant racial disparities revealed around the U.S. in the fight against coronavirus. A CDC analysis of nearly 1,500 hospitalizations across 14 states found that African Americans made up a third of the hospitalizations, despite accounting for 18% of the population in the areas studied in the month of March. Preliminary data from other hard-hit states and cities, such as New York, Chicago and Louisiana, also indicated that minority communities have been disproportionately impacted in terms of coronavirus deaths. Members of Congress and leaders of the black community have called on the government to do more testing in minority communities and more data research. President Donald Trump promised at a press briefing to have some national race-related COVID-19 statistics in a few days, but the numbers have yet to materialize.Music Credit: 'Ice Cold Hip Hop' by Bobby Cole
