With everyone at home searching for programs to watch on TV, NYC VIBE reaches into our archives to talk with Gianni Russo, author of the memoir ‘Hollywood Godfather’.
NYC VIBE first caught up with the 77 year old screenwriter producer, singer and actor last summer at the East Hampton Authors Night and then invited to the author's upper east side apartment this past November to dig deeper.
Gianni says what we know about the Godfather - everytime we watch each movie again and again, we learn something new, hear something that we didn’t hear before and pay closer attention to each character.
You will recognize Gianni Russo from his role as Don Corleone’s son-in-law Carlo Rizzi in Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. When he got the part, Russo was just a 25 year old with no acting experience but his real life story and life with the mob goes far beyond that of any of the characters in the iconic Godfather movies.
"Hollywood Godfather My Life in the Movies and the Mob" is available now and Mr. Russo also has a podcast together with co-author Patrick Picciarelli also called Hollywood Godfather.
