The Indian Railways has extended the suspension of its passenger services till May 3, senior officials said on Tuesday. They said the decision was taken after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the lockdown across the country will be extended till May 3 to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

రైల్వే మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ సంచలన నిర్ణయాన్ని తీసుకుంది. కరోనా వైరస్ వ్యాప్తి చెందడాన్ని నివారించడానికి దేశవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రస్తుతం అమలులో ఉంటోన్న లాక్‌డౌన్‌ను వచ్చేనెల 3వ తేదీ వరకు పొడిగిస్తున్నట్లు ప్రధానమంత్రి నరేంద్ర మోడీ ప్రకటించిన మరుక్షణమే రైల్వేశాఖ అధికారులు తమ నిర్ణయాన్ని వెల్లడించారు. వచ్చే నెల 3వ తేదీ వరకు అన్ని రైళ్లను రద్దు చేస్తున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది రైల్వే శాఖ. జాతిని ఉద్దేశించి మోడీ చేసిన ప్రసంగం ముగిసిన వెంటనే రైల్వే అధికారులు ఈ విషయాన్ని తెలిపారు.
