Former India cricketer Madan Lal feels any decision on the fate of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League can be taken only once the situation improves completely amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 IPL season was slated to start from March 29 but due to the coronavirus outbreak, it remains suspended till April 15. "IPL is a big brand. But the board can only take a decision once the situation improves and coronavirus is gone. At the moment, it's on upstage. So, no one is going to take a risk," Lal told IANS.

जैसा कि सबको पता है, कोरोनावायरस की वजह से फिलहाल सब कुछ ठप है. पूरे देश में लॉकडाउन लागू है. ऐसे में सारे इवेंट्स फिलहाल स्थगित कर दिए गए हैं. आईपीएल उनमें से एक बड़ा इवेंट है. 29 मार्च से होना था. लेकिन, 15 अप्रैल तक के लिए स्थगित कर दिया गया. अब खबर है कि बीसीसीआई इस टूर्नामेंट को जुलाई के महीने में आयोजित करवाने पर विचार कर रही है. कहा जा रहा है कि आईपीएल बिना दर्शकों के बीच खेला जा सकता है. जी हाँ, बिना फैंस के स्टेडियम में मैच कराने पर विचार किया जा रहा है. ऐसा एक बीसीसीआई के अधिकारी ने कहा है. लेकिन, इस प्लान से मदन लाल इत्तेफाक नहीं रखते हैं.
