While the country is dealing with a shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for doctors and frontline medical staff during the coronavirus pandemic, a few students of IIT-Madras, along with NexGen3D Printers, a Chennai-based 3D printing company, have designed and manufactured 3D face shields. Each face shields costs only Rs 100 and can serve as an alternative to a hazmat suit headgear that restricts the use of a stethoscope.
