Residents of a village in the Tambrauw regency of West Papua province, Indonesia attempted to blockade the Trans-Papua Highway on March 30, in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This is the main route between their village and a district city of West Papua.

According to local media, despite using trees trunks, twigs and a number of sharp tools to block the highway, local government officials soon reopened the route.
