Coronavirus Lockdown: PM Modi के सन्देश पर 5 April को मनेगा 'Earth Hour' | वनइंडिया हिंदी

Every year, Earth Hour is observed on the last Saturday of March at 8:30 pm. And while previously it brought the public out onto the roads to mark the hour, this year the famous environmental initiative is going digital as many countries are in lockdown. The coronavirus has brought about some fear and anxiety. It has brought a lot of death and grief for the ones who are left behind. It has brought uncertainty - we still don’t know if the worst is behind us or if it is in the future still.

अर्थ आवर डब्लूडब्लूएफ संस्था आयोजित करती है। इसकी शुरूआत वर्ष 2007 में ऑस्ट्रेलिया सिडनी में एक लाइट्स-ऑफ इवेण्ट के तहत हुई थी, बाद में अन्य देशों ने भी इसे अपना लिया। अर्थ आवर मार्च के अन्तिम शनिवार को मनाया जाता है। इसमें रात 8.30 बजे से रात 9.30 बजे के बीच लाइट्स-ऑफ की जाती हैं। तर्क यह होता है कि कोयला आधारित पावर जेनरेशन में कमी आने से कार्बन-डाइ-ऑक्साइड का उत्सर्जन कम होता है, इसका सीधा असर पर्यावरण पर पड़ता है।
