বোলপুর শহরের অনতিদূরে দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিমে রয়েছে রায়পুর গ্রাম। গ্রামের নামকরণ নিয়ে নানা মুনির নানা মত রয়েছে। তবে রায়পুর রাজবাড়ি বলে অধিক পরিচিত ভগ্নপ্রায় বাড়িটি আসলে সিংহ পরিবারের জমিদার বাড়ি। ব্রিটিশ আমলেও এই বাড়িটির এবং সদস্যদের বেশ খ্যাতি ছিল। তবে বর্তমানে অবস্থা ভগ্নপ্রায়, সঙ্গীন। লোকমুখে 'ভুতুড়ে' বলে শোনা গেলেও, এই তথ্য সম্পূর্ণ ভুয়ো এবং মনগড়া। অজয় নদের তীরে ইতিহাস এখনো বেঁচে আছে অলক্ষ্যে।
Passing Islam Bazar (Bolpur) towards the southwest, at the bank of river Ajay, this village is situated. Raipur (Raypur) has much folklore about its name. The Jamidar of Raipur at that time gave Maharshi Debendranath (Father of Rabindranath Tagore) a portion of his land at a minimal cost Where he later formed the Viswa Bharati. Lack of proper maintenance it seems a haunted place though THIS IS "NOT" A HAUNTED PLACE.
