As the novel coronavirus spreads to more than 180 countries and regions around the world, reaching a grim milestone on April 3, 2020, of having infected over 1 million people, some places insist they remain free of the deadly disease. Among them is North Korea. As recently as April 1, the director of the reclusive state’s Central Emergency Anti-epidemic Headquarters, Pak Myong Su, said, “Not one single person has been infected with the novel coronavirus in our country so far.”
