These banks will be merged with effect from April 1 after the central government approved the formation of four big banks by combining 10 state-owned banks. The lockdown in the country due to Corona virus will also have no effect on the merger of banks. On one hand, the government is justifying the merger decision of banks. On the other hand, bank unions are opposing the mega merger of PSU banks.

केंद्र सरकार ने 10 सरकारी बैंकों को मिलाकर चार बड़े बैंक बनाने को मंजूरी के बाद एक अप्रैल से इन बैंकों का विलय हो जाएगा. कोरोना वायरस के चलते देश में लगे लॉकडाउन का भी बैंकों के विलय पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ेगा. एक तरफ सरकार जहां बैंकों के विलय के फैसले को सही ठहरा रही है. वहीं दूसरी तरफ बैंक यूनियन पीएसयू बैंकों के मेगा मर्जर का विरोध कर रही हैं.
