Social media companies are fighting to contain misinformation about the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
However, there are always some unfortunate and alarming messages that go viral on the platforms.
According to Gizmodo, the latest doozy is about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It claims the CDC is expected to recommend that Americans begin to wear masks in everyday life in a number of days.
False.
The CDC currently only recommends that besides healthcare workers, only people who are sick or caring for sick individuals wear face masks.
Recommended
