Travel has been banned in the Georgian municipalities of Marneuli and Bolsnisi as 20,000 residents are being examined for the COVID-19 virus.

All businesses have also been closed except critical infrastructures such as grocery stores and drug stores.

The government made the above decision after a middle-aged woman from the Marneuli municipality tested positive for the virus. The woman, who is in a critical condition and has pneumonia, had been in contact with dozens of people.

This footage filmed on March 25 shows an army checkpoint in Marneuli.
