In an address to the nation, Prime Minister Boris Johnson had warned people they must stay at home as he announced new measures to prohibit gatherings and order shops selling non-essential goods to close. The PM said people will only be allowed out to shop for basic essentials, one form of exercise a day, any medical need and to get to and from work if absolutely necessary.
