This pet tortoise wears colourful woolly hats knitted for him by his loving owner

Footage filmed on February 13th in Pathum Thani, central Thailand shows Rot Thang, a four-month-old sulcata tortoise, striding around his enclosure with the unusual knitwear attached to his shell.

“Rot Thang appears to enjoy wearing his cute woolly hats. I think it's sweet that the colourful clothes make him look less grumpy,'' said owner Atinop Copter Wong.

Sulcata tortoises, also known as African spurred tortoises, are the third-largest tortoise species in the world and can weigh up to 105 kilos when fully grown. They can live for more than 70 years.

Experts don't usually recommend keeping them as pets.
