IPL 2020: BCCI cuts IPL playoff prize money by half & opening ceremony scrapped. The Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI seem to be affected by the economic slowdown as well as the Indian cricket board, which is not known for cutting costs, is planning to do so on multiple fronts. According to a report on Times of India, the board has stated that in a circular sent out to all the stakeholders of the IPL as well as the franchises that it will not host an opening ceremony of the IPL from this season.
