Thomas ‘Snacks’ Lee goes viral after awesome basketball play

A cult hero on the American college basketball scene known as “Snacks” made an NBA legend take notice after he went viral for an amazing sequence.
Thomas “Snacks” Lee will need to find himself an agent to help deal with all the extra attention he’s receiving.

The manager of Jackson State’s basketball team may not exactly be a household name in Australia but plenty on the American college scene know his face — and now even NBA star Kevin Durant is taking notice of his exploits.

Nicknamed “Snacks” because he started bringing lollies into the Tigers’ locker room, Lee’s fame went to a whole new level when he was given the chance to strut his stuff on the hardwood in a recent win over the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff.

Jackson State held a sizeable lead over their rivals and victory was assured, leading fans to chant “we want Snacks”. Coach Wayne Brent gave the people what they wanted, injecting Lee into a division one college game for the first time ever with a little over two minutes remaining.

It wasn’t just spectators going wild, the commentators were losing their minds too.

“Snacks is in this ball game!” one announcer laughed as Lee geed up the crowd. “Snacks is a big ‘ol boy.”

Lee, a cult hero who has been around Jackson State’s program since he was a child and the team’s manager since 2015, wasted no time getting stuck in, even if the results didn’t match his enthusiasm. The commentators begged Lee’s teammates to get him the ball and they obliged.

The men behind the microphone were soon cracking up in hysterics when he launched a long-range three-pointer that missed everything and went out of bounds.

Still, the air-ball didn’t dent Lee’s confidence and he shot from even further downtown when he got his hands on the ball again, aiming for the basket from midcourt but seeing his attempt bounce off the rim.

“Snacks almost hit it! Wow,” a commentator said amid more laughter. “This is the most intriguing plot of the ball game.”

Maybe third time’s the charm? Not quite for Lee, whose next three-point effort hit the back iron but with the clock winding down, the big man finally nailed the target from outside the arc.

Fans lost it as everyone jumped out of their seats and cheered.
