Coronavirus Update: Death Toll Tops 4,200; U.S. Cases Continue To Grow Amid Increasing Fears

The novel coronavirus spreading across the world is now a pandemic, the World Health Organization officially declared on March 11. There are now over 118,000 global cases in at least 114 countries, with infections on every continent except Antarctica. Of the 118,000 cases, 66,200 have recovered The flu-like virus has killed more than 4,200 people, the vast majority in mainland China, since being first discovered in Wuhan, China in December 2019. There is currently no vaccine for the virus and the disease it causes (Covid-19). The best ways to prevent infection are to avoid people who are sick, wash your hands and clean surfaces regularly with disinfectant, cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze and stay home if you are feeling sick.
