Lorry driver forgets to close container hatch then smashes into electricity post in Taiwan
  • 4 years ago
A truck driver forgot to close the side door, pulling away and crashing it into an electricity post.

The trucker had opened the hydraulic fold-up side of the container while making a delivery in Yunlin, Taiwan last Tuesday afternoon (February 25).

However, he pulled out onto the road with the white hatch still raised.

Dashcam footage from an oncoming driver shows how the vehicle smashed into a tall wooden pole for power lines. It shook the entire row.

There was no damage done to the electricity cables but the lorry's container door was buckled - preventing him from closing it.

The motorist who captured the unusual accident, Chen, said: "The lorry driver forgot to close the container's door after they had finished shipping goods at a local shop.

It was pretty scary when he crashed but thankfully nobody was injured. The truck driver stopped driving and phoned for help.''
