The event was held for the first time in 2006 in Oberstdorf with international participation, but the spectators did not experience the "typical" figure skating competition. Despite the official rating system, the usual categories (single run women / men, pair run, ice dance) or the division into different performance classes, the ISU Adult Figure Skating Competition was a competition of a different kind.
