Joe Burrow Has 9" Inch Hands, So How Much Do Measurables Actually Matter?

The Combine is underway and they've started taking measurables. Per Tom Pelissero, Joe Burrow's hands checked in on the smaller side.

Per my handy dandy NFL Baseline Measurables doc, that would put him towards the very bottom of the league for his position in terms of his mitts.

Now hand size for a QB isn't the be all, end all. Patrick Mahomes has 9 1/4" hands and Jared Goff, who formerly went #1 overall, had 9" meat beaters. Hand size matters for a QB as far as projecting his ability to hold onto the football and not fumble. If going to a colder weather city where the ball hardens up even more, that could be an issue. But Denver didn't have a problem drafting Drew Lock who also had 9" paws last year, so will this news give Cincinnati pause in drafting Burrow? Probably not, but Willie & I talked with Buccaneers Director of College Scouting, Mike Biehl and asked about measurables and how much they actually matter.
