Scores of penis worshippers parade through Greek capital in ancient ritual

Scores of people joined a racy penis parade in Athens on Saturday (February 22nd) evening.

Participants wore bestial masks and blew horns as they danced their way through the streets of the Greek capital.

Some carried large phalluses and at one point a group of women danced around a giant, red model of a penis.

The celebration, known as phallophoria, has its roots in ancient Greece as a means of honouring the god Dionysus.
